The girls’ varsity softball team hosted the JFK softball team on Wednesday the 20th. The team understands that they cannot under estimate any team due to everyone trying to beat the Bulldogs. As the game started and the girls entered the field, it was an easy three outs, as JFK could not connect with Kratzke’s pitches. As the girls were up to the plate, they faced JFK’s pitcher and the pitches were nothing like the girls are use to. The pitches were fairly slow so it took the team a while for their bats to get hot. As they finally warmed up to the pitcher, the team defeated the bears 8 to 1. JFK earned one run as their team made connection off Kratzke and a couple errors were made. Overall, the team played well together. Laura Kratzke pitched 5 innings and got the win while striking out 12 bears. Brooke Strausbaugh pitched 2 innings and received the save. As a whole the team had 13 hits. Sara Pasternack was 2 for 3 with a triple. Morgan Rutan was 2 for 4 with three stolen bases and 2 RBI’s. The team heads to Holland today to take home another win.
