The Friends of the Planet Club recently wrapped up a successful used shoe recycling drive, collecting sneakers, cleats, and hiking boots in any condition until March 14th. In just one week, the club shipped out 24 pairs of shoes, contributing to both environmental sustainability and helping communities in need. The drive, inspired by Mrs. Mertz, involved recycling used footwear and either reselling or donating the shoes based on their condition. Not only did the initiative encourage community participation and closet clean-outs, but it also helped raise funds for the club’s ongoing environmental efforts.
