This week, Alden High School proudly recognizes two outstanding athletes who have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and leadership in their respective sports.
Athlete of the Week: Jillian Uhrich (Varsity Girls Basketball)
The Alden girls Varsity Basketball team is thrilled to highlight junior guard Jillian Uhrich as Athlete of the Week! Jillian has continued her standout performances from last season, leading the Bulldogs on both the offensive and defensive ends. She currently leads the team in scoring, rebounds, and steals. In a recent game against Newfane, Jillian delivered an impressive double-double, scoring 20 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Her 18 points per game average places her among the top 15 scorers in Western New York. Congratulations, Jillian, and keep up the great work!

Athlete of the Week: Liam Farrell (Varsity Boys Swimming)
Senior Liam Farrell is making waves as this week’s Athlete of the Week! A dedicated member of Alden’s swim program for the past three years, Liam has started the season with dominating performances in all his events. Competing in the 200 IM, 100 fly, 100 breaststroke, and two relays (200 medley and 400 free), Liam has consistently secured first place, contributing to Alden’s undefeated streak in these events. Currently ranked in the top three on Swim Cloud for the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke, Liam has qualified for postseason championships, including the ECICs, Class C championships, and state qualifiers. His ultimate goal is to become the first Alden male swimmer in 21 years to compete at States. Good luck, Liam!
