This week, Alden High School proudly recognizes two outstanding athletes who have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, and leadership in their respective sports.
Athlete of the Week: Collin Fisher (Varsity Boys Bowling)
This week’s Athlete of the Week is senior and Boys Varsity Bowling Captain Collin Fisher. Known for leading through example, Collin’s quiet determination sets a strong tone for his team. In the season opener, he delivered an impressive performance, rolling games of 235, 237, and 225 to achieve a remarkable 697 series. Collin’s consistency and focus not only contributed significantly to the team’s success but also serve as an inspiration to his teammates. His outstanding skills on the lanes exemplify what it means to be a leader and a competitor.

Athlete of the Week: Kalen Czelusta (Varsity Boys Basketball)
Senior Forward and Varsity Boys Basketball Captain Kalen Czelusta earns this week’s second Athlete of the Week honor for his exceptional performances on the court. In the season-opening victory against West Seneca West, Kalen scored 13 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and posted a highly efficient 56.3 percent effective field goal percentage. He followed up with a stellar 20-point, 10-rebound effort in a close matchup against Holland, shooting an impressive 71.4 percent from the floor, hitting two three-pointers, and blocking three shots. Kalen’s leadership was evident as he spearheaded a second-half comeback that brought the Bulldogs within three points in the final seconds. For the week, he has averaged a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, along with 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, with more games still to come. His tenacity and commitment are why his teammates trust him as their captain.
